Heh. I've run or seen some odd groupings in instances and a few raid places, and some odd gearings. One of my favs was an Alliance four pally, one druid Scholomance run to help a pally get his epic mount (at one point in the quest zerg rushes I switched out of bear to battle-rez the pally we'd come to gear). And I helped some friends put together a healadin and four warlock Dire Maul mount run (it would've gone better for them, except for one 'lock who was more used to being a raid healing priest and wasn't used to her lock... she kept drawing aggro and doing accidental mob pulls).
In looking at old blogs I was startled to realize this morning that I didn't have my full Shadowcraft Armor set when I started Molten Core (May '06 or so; I was slow). But it didn't take me long after my first visit to get my Volcanic Armor set crafted... or learn how to bandage!
